Colonel Sebastian Moran, by all means, should be from sometime in the late 1800's, plucked straight out of Kim Newman's "Professor Moriarty and the Hound of the D'Urbervilles".
But this is a modern AU.
Which sometimes trickles over into the other adaptations.
